With the further deepening of China's reform and opening up, the application of statistics has received unprecedented attention. This paper defines the teaching model before 1999 as the traditional teaching mode, analyzes the problems existing in the teaching of social and economic statistics under the traditional model and analyzes the new demands and new challenges of undergraduate teaching under the new situation. The basic ideas and concrete methods of reforming and distributing the contents, means and methods of statistical teaching of management and management in the new situation has been discussed.
