Abstract:This paper evaluated China's education development from the aspects of accessibility, structural rationality, input and output. Based on analyzing the regional imbalance, this paper mainly studied the effect of economic convergence on educational equalization and its transmission mechanism. The findings are as follows: First, in recent years, China's education output has been significantly improved. Education development, especially the accessibility of education, still has obvious regional imbalance. Second, the spatial and temporal distributions of all dimensions of educational development have strong inertia, and the regions at a low level tend to have relatively higher inertia. Therefore, to solve the regional imbalance, it is necessary to be vigilant that the regions with low level of education development become “education depression”Third, economic convergence can promote education equality through technological convergence and income convergence. Regional economic convergence may be one of the important ways to optimize the education imbalance in China.
