Empirical Analysis of Effects of Schooling on Married Women’s Labor force Participation and Earnings in China

Abstract:The paper applies to Heckman two-step procedure to analyze effects of schooling on married women's labor force participation and earnings in china with subset of three section data sets of CHIP from 1988, 1995 and 2002.The results show that the probability of married women's labor force participation increases with their schooling level rising, in which that of college group is the highest and that of primary school is the lowest.Moreover, the results also show that married women's earnings increases with their schooling level rising.But corrected coefficient is obviously under OLS estimates.And comparing to estimates of other developing country, our married women's estimated rate of return to schooling is relative low.
