Empirical Analysis of Gender Wage Differentials for College Graduates

Abstract: Recently,the phenomenon of gender wage differentials is more and more serious when college graduates choose jobs. The paper applies OLS to respectively analysis the factors influencing wage of male and female graduates in Mincer model and Oaxaca method to decompose gender wage differentials using inquiry data of graduates of Mycos in 2011.The re sults show that the differentials of individual and task characteristic variable cannot completely explain gender wage gap,in which the unexplained part is up to 86.2%,that means there exists serious gender wage discrimination when college gradu ates first obtain employment.
