Abstract: As resources generate power, intergenerational transmission is actually the transfer of resources, and different resource endowments lead to different power endowments and different intergenerational transmission capabilities. Therefore, "intergenerational power" is proposed, that is, the influence, control or bargaining power on others formed in the interest competition activities due to the intergenerational inheritance of resources. The intergenerational transmission of resources destroys the rules of market allocation of resources. The degree of opportunity inequality of the offspring is determined by the amount of resources of the parents, thus forming a vicious circle of resource endowment differences of the offspring. According to this logic, opening the black box of intergenerational transmission of income shows that the government should exercise administrative power to check and balance the intergenerational power of the family, so that individuals should depend more on their own efforts to make achievements, and equal opportunities and social equity can be realized.
